I have been waitlisted at my top choice school. I have sent a letter of intent. Is there anything else I can do to help my chances of getting off the waitlist?
Do you have 100,000 bucks?

If you won't be happy, don't do it. My inexperienced opinion of medical school is you need to enjoy the school you are attending to say the very least or else you may struggle and even potentially fail. I think the smarter thing to do would be to try and find a way to start liking the school you were accepted at, because re applicants are not really ideal unless you improve significantly over the previous cycle. Do what your heart tells you.
Maybe I didn't write it in a clear manner, but we are saying the exact same thing. I was just outlining the difference between liking your school and not. I think the smarter idea would be to learn to enjoy the school you were accepted at, that's what I meant by the "I think the smarter thing to do..." Sentence. But, yes, I agree.I definitely understand where you're coming from, but I disagree. Medical school is only part of the journey to achieving an ultimate goal (assuming the OP's goal is to become a physician and not attend their favorite school). At the very worst the OP has to stick it out for 2 years before moving on. Reapplying jeopardizes the *hopeful* ultimate goal of becoming a physician. That's just my simplified take on this.
OP, would you rather attend medical school and be on your way to accomplishing a very admirable goal, or would you rather jeopardize that to attend your ideal medical school that you may not be admitted to next cycle?

I have been accepted elsewhere but I don't know if I will be happy there
