Do you have another acceptance?
Six figure donation check might help.
Seriously, figure out what your deficits are and fix them for the next cycle, and always have a plan B.

I have been waitlisted at my top choice school. I have sent a letter of intent. Is there anything else I can do to help my chances of getting off the waitlist?
See if you can't apply for a masters program at that school or just work on your application like Goro mentioned. A masters program had many good implications with only a few downfalls.
If you won't be happy, don't do it. My inexperienced opinion of medical school is you need to enjoy the school you are attending to say the very least or else you may struggle and even potentially fail. I think the smarter thing to do would be to try and find a way to start liking the school you were accepted at, because re applicants are not really ideal unless you improve significantly over the previous cycle. Do what your heart tells you.

I definitely understand where you're coming from, but I disagree. Medical school is only part of the journey to achieving an ultimate goal (assuming the OP's goal is to become a physician and not attend their favorite school). At the very worst the OP has to stick it out for 2 years before moving on. Reapplying jeopardizes the *hopeful* ultimate goal of becoming a physician. That's just my simplified take on this.
OP, would you rather attend medical school and be on your way to accomplishing a very admirable goal, or would you rather jeopardize that to attend your ideal medical school that you may not be admitted to next cycle?

Maybe I didn't write it in a clear manner, but we are saying the exact same thing. I was just outlining the difference between liking your school and not. I think the smarter idea would be to learn to enjoy the school you were accepted at, that's what I meant by the "I think the smarter thing to do..." Sentence. No worries! My fault for not catching that. I've read terrible advice on sdn too many times, it's starting to affect my reading comprehension.
I have been accepted elsewhere but I don't know if I will be happy there
Why?
Many people would kill to be in your shoes! Is there something you discovered during the interview to make you think the school that accepted you would be horrible? Some new knowledge, like it's a Caribbean school and you now know they are horrible?
You might find your #1 is not all you thought and the one you turned down may look better.
Just something to consider.

What are the two schools? and what are your reasons for liking and disliking?
