I got wait listed at two schools, and I still have 2 to hear from but I'm assuming it's the same fate. Is there a way to improve my chances on the waitlist while still reapplying??? Any suggestions on what to do or send them or tell them that will help me out?

Send in a LOI to your top choice and update letters to the other school. I'm waitlisted at 3 schools so I share your pain. I'm getting ready to fill out another AMCAS just in case though.

You're both preparing to reapply? I too got waitlisted at 2 schools and have 2 to hear from. Do you think I should be starting the application process all over again while I wait? I don't want to go through it again if I don't have to!

Yeah, I might have a pessimistic view of the waitlist process though because one of the other applicants I met at Wake this year had applied last year and was WL'ed at 14 schools. He was not accepted at any of those schools and he reapplied in June (while he still held 14 waitlist spots). He said that it's best to reapply as early as possible and hold your waitlists at the same time.

As much as i hate doing this process again...i'm doing it again. I currently hold 3 waitlist positions, but I'm gonna take the pessimistic view as well and cover all my bases by reapplying. Hopefully by the time I submit my AMCAS there will be some sort of movement and I will know for sure whether or not i need to go through with it. But still, I'd much rather take the chance and spend the money instead of having to wait ANOTHER year to try again.

Are you taking the MCAT over again too?

same. so you recommend getting the application in early (mine weren't complete until Oct/Nov) and not retaking the MCAT?

Yes, I'm not retaking the MCAT since I got interviews. I'm just going to submit as early as possible.
