Ok so I am wait-listed at 4 schools with no acceptances so far. I am still unsure how the waitlist process works. Lets say that I hear back from one of the schools with an acceptance and I accept of course. Does that mean that I will be pulled of the wait-list from the other 3 schools because I am accepted for matriculation somewhere else?

No, you can stay on as many waitlists as you wish (though presumably you'd drop any waitlist school you would not attend over the acceptance you already hold), but should only hold one acceptance if it's after May 15. If a second waitlist school offers you a position, you need to decide quickly if you will take the newly offered spot. If so, you'd then inform school #1 that you decline the spot you reserved with your deposit (which is forfeited if it's after May 15) and you'd send in another deposit to school #2. There is a mechanism for keeping 2 acceptances active if financial aid info is pending, but I won't go into that.
