I took my first 2 DAT attempts back in 2013 when I arguably was delusional and did little to no studying.

I got 18's and a few 19/20's here and there.

I got my act together and retook for my 3rd time in 2015:

AA - 21
TS - 21
Orgo - 21
Bio - 21
Chem - 20
RC - 21
PA - 19
QR - 19

So arguably better this time around.

I applied this year and I was waitlisted at a few schools.

I want to start studying for a DAT retake just in case I need to reapply, assuming I don't get off any of the waitlists.

I know that Tufts has it listed that "only first 3 attempts are considered".

But does anyone know how many schools in the country actually abide by this rule?

It's not like I have 4 active scores, 3 are expired and my 3rd attempt was substantially better.

I assume the 4th will be even better since I know how I did well on my 3rd attempt and have more time/resources to dedicate this time around.

I wouldn’t retake. I don’t think your DAT is the problem. Maybe consider more shadowing/volunteering and make sure that your LoRs and personal statement are solid

My DAT scores from 2015 are expiring. I have to retake if I need to re-apply next year.

I was wondering if schools would still accept a 4th retake, since I would really only have 1 active DAT score at that time.

I read some schools are adamant about the first 3 only.

Is this your first application cycle? It would suck to retake the DAT after getting those scores. If you have applied multiple times with 21AA/21TS, then it's something else that's wrong with your application.
