What do you think I should do in this situation? Some people think I should be proactive by calling the school, writing a letter of intent, etc....At this point, will doing any of these help my chances? Any advice? I am feeling so down but trying to make the best of everything. 🙁

those would be pretty radical things to do, I dont know how admission committees would react to that.

I think you should call the admission office to see if it's okay for you to send in extra infor... I know that some schools are ok with the idea that you can send in additional essay that you want admission committee to know about and let's them know that you're still interested in their program...I hope that the Admission Committee don't mind about this b/c we mean NO harm, just wanna show them that we are still interested...

Thanks for the advice. I definitely have mixed feelings about this as well.

I think you shouldn't send anything extra, I'm not sure if it would do anything. Remember, they take a lot of people off the waitlist (at least that's what was said during my interview). I think 3/5 of the students who were talking to us said they were waitlisted and they got in.

i know they do take a lot of people off of the active list. from what i know.. they initially accept around >250 for the 190 spots. I'm sure >60 ppl will reject USC (for any UC's or out of states)... therefore in April/May you'll see alot of movements in the active consideration last.
