so i recently got a waitlist e-mail from a program telling me they'll e-mail me for an interview if a date becomes available.

this is a pretty cool program that seems to be well-respected and word on the street has said they don't dig DOs much, and now i'm feeling confused. am i merely the pudgy sure-thing old girlfriend that they'll call when the model-types aren't calling back or is this just a way to reject me without having to say the word "reject"?

Don't worry about it. Hey, maybe it's a stretch for you, maybe it's not. You'll never know. If they invited you then for an interview, waitlist or not, then that means they could see you working in their ED. Go on the interview, kick everybody else's ass, and then forget about it.

it sounds like you're on their waitlist in case somebody cancels. i think if they wanted to reject you they would reject you.
