Can applicants from prior years give me any insight on how much MSTP waitlists tend to move? I find myself waitlisted at 3 schools, all of which I like and would probably attend over my one MSTP acceptance. I guess this would be more helpful if I were specific, so I am particularly interested in hearing about Northwestern, Mt. Sinai, and NYU. Northwestern's list is apparently "not rigidly ranked," so I've already sent them a love letter, but I really have no idea when I might hear from them. Mt. Sinai told me my exact number on the list, which sounds pretty high to me, but I suppose that depends on how many people they accepted and waitlisted. Anyone know? Should I expect to sit back and wait until April/May, or could I potentially hear sooner?

I am so sick of waiting. This application process is very trying for impatient people, let me tell you.

I am going to rather rude...and ask the same question. However, I am waitlisted at University of Wisconsin and Mayo. So I would appreciate any insight on whether these two schools tend have any movement on their waitlists. Thanks!

Clarinetgeek I am waitlisted at Mayo's MSTP as well...I am trying to figure out if I should take the waitlist letter with a grain of salt, did yours say you are one of our top alternate candidates and based on previous years you have a very good chance at getting in later this spring...the wording is definitely bugging me because it seems to give what could be a lot of false hope and i'd would be interesting to here if they are using the same form letter for everyone.

hey guys, is it true that the deadline for final decision is april 15th ? if so, than there is nothing really we waitlisted pple can do untill some spots clear out..all we can do is write them love letter and now the question is is now a good time or wait right before this deadline..and again, is april 15th really that deadline or is it like regular med schools...mine won't tell me the rank but i remember during interviewing that they said the list is ranked..does that mean they change the ranking during this perion depending on which applicants show more interest in the school? is it a bad idea to call one of ur interviews and ask?

Yes I got the same form letter. I am starting to lose hope for Mayo....well there goes my top choice...oh well.

Best of luck to you.
