This may be a stupid question, but what exactly does it mean to be waitlisted? If, for example, you're an in-state student in Colorado and you've been waitlisted, do you still have to interview? Or do they interview you if a spot opens up...
 
I am not completely sure how Colorado works, but the waitlist is a final decision (sort of). Meaning you have gone through all of the application process. So if a school interviews your category of student (in-state, out of state etc...) then you would have completed this step before being wait-listed. Essentially the waitist or alternate list means that you are a great candidate and they would love to have you IF they had enough spots. So if one of their spots opens up they may offer it to you. Evidently, some schools have interview waitlists (Tufts?). This is a completely different thing.
 
So to all of you guys who are wait listed at CSU, are you in-state or out of state?
 
OOS, I don't believe that they have waitlisted ISers yet, I could be wrong though.

I called to confirm that I do want to be kept in the alternate pool.

They told me that they don't have a numbered list of alternates, so anyone from the pool can be accepted next! They have some kind of system, but the nice guy I was talking to said he didn't know details. But there isn't a ranked list of runners up.

He said to hang on, because they've offered spots to people as late as September/October!

So there's hope for us yet 🙂

hey..does anyone know how the glasgow waitlist works? i just got an email notifying me that i am on it..i was wondering how many people do they put on the waitlist? and how many people do they accept from the US? 😕

Just out of curiosity, when you all have received your notifications of being an alternate, what does it tell you?
Does it just say you are -blank- number in line, and that you will be notified if spots open up?
Does it give you any deadlines that you should expect to hear from them by?

Check the threads for the various schools that you're interested in finding out about, each does the waitlists differently. Some will tell you your position and others won't.
