wake forest interview travel question

I have an interview at wake on 11/16 and i'm traveling from philly.

i called wake and they said the nearest airport is 45 minutes away and is greensboro, nc.

however, the cheapest ticket there is about 300 with 1 connection and a train takes about 10 hours!

However, raleigh, nc tickets are only $58 roundtrip flying from philly.

how far is raleigh from wake forest.

how did other people in the new england area get down there??

mapquest, they have these things called maps, you can look at the distances between cities with them. its pretty neat. I think they were invented sometime around zero.

i went to wakeforest from greensboro. raleigh is atleast 70 miles away ( that is what I was told.) You can use mapquest to find the exact miles from wakeforest to the airport.

Raleigh is at most 1.5 hours from Winston-Salem.. There is a very small airport in Winston-Salem that might cost a little more, but cut down on the huge amount of time. It's called Z Smith Reynolds Airport. If money is an issue then you could consider flying into Charlotte which may be cheaper and then renting a car from there (I think it's about 2 hours from W-S)... Best bet is to do a Mapquest search and see what you can find. Best of luck...

As a point of reference, Greensboro is NOT 45 minutes from W-S.. It's more like 25-30..

Unless, like me, you happen to interview in the middle of a tropical storm. 😱 Seriously, though, 25-30 minutes is certainly adequate to get to the school from Greensboro.

I rented a car in Greensboro. There is a shuttle, but it costs as much as renting a car. I found it through the Piedmont Triad Airport under transportation.

National charged me an extra $25, and it was still cheaper than the shuttle. The day is over at 3 (the schedule is kept pretty exactly).
