Congratulations to everyone that have been accepted to the program. I look forward to meeting everyone in a couple of months. When is everyone moving to Winston-Salem?

Since the program starts on August 1st, I think I will be moving in July 30. I am going to work through the 28th so I can earn the extra cash and then drive on the 29th. I am so excited to start! Does anyone have an pointers on good areas to live? 🙂

I think I am going to move around the 1st of July so I can get settled. I hear that Ardmore is a convenient place to live since it is really close to the hospital. I am trying to rent a small 1 bedroom cottage about 1.5 miles away from the hospital.

On another note, I just faxed in my acceptance form. I need to call them to see if they have received it and when they are going to send the packet on class schedule, orientation, financial aid, etc. I will keep you posted.

Actually, you are right, I should probably move in a little earlier so I think I will move in on July24 and have a week to settle in. Any one else accepted? I am so excited to get to know all of you more! 🙂

Have you received your info packet yet? I am curious to see what classes we will be taking.

Anyone else out there?

For those of you who got in, what were your stats? (if you dont mind)

Hey,
I just signed a lease for a place on Lyndhurst Ave 4 blocks from the hospital. I used the WFUSM housing website. I am moving July 1st ish. I am so excited!!!

Hey folks! I'm so glad I finally found you guys...Congratulations on getting in!!! I had such a great time during the interview, I know Wake Forest is going to be awesome. 😀 Has anybody received their orientation packet yet? I will probably be moving in around July 25.

I haven't received mine yet but hopefully we will get them soon. Where are you from Dr. Lovely? I look forward to getting to know you. Take care.

I haven't recieved mine either but when I called last week to make sure they got my acceptance letter, they said that we should get them shortly. 🙂

So I guess they are waiting on one professor to figure out our class schedule. This is what I know...We are taking 4 classes, three of which are Problem Based Learning, Neurobiology, and Biochemistry.

hi-

congrats all! im gonna be at wake forest this year for the post-bacc as well. i havent yet received my packet too, i faxed in the acceptance and i know they received it, they said it would be a few weeks before we got the info packet. i called financial aid as well to find out about the reward letters and i think that should come with more info about classes, orientation, etc. im still looking for a place and i probably wont be down there until a few days before we get started.

does anyone know what is apartments are in the ardmore area? i keep on hearing about it, but ive got no clue where to start looking.

my email is [email protected] if anyone wants to say hi!

Congrats and Welcome!!!

I received my info packet. There was nothing about financial aid or classes in it. Just health forms, prudential packet, and orientation.

On another note, I am flying out tomorrow to W-S. I still have so much to pack/get rid of. Looks like I am going to be burning the midnight oil.

oh good, i thought they had left out the financial aid info. and other papers only in my packet. It's a little annoying. I guess I need to schedule a visit to the doctor soon so I can make it before July 14. I know what you mean about moving, it sucks. I have so much stuff and have no idea what to do with it. Can't wait to meet everyone! take care! :luck:

After a long trip, I am finally in Winston-Salem. I moved in to my new apartment "Brookford Place" and it is awesome. To make a long story short, I decided that the place at Lyndhurst was not for me and I found a new place. I am really excited to get to know the area better and I have to say that everyone in W-S seems very friendly. Take care everyone.

does wake forest generally only take minority students?

Hey, Sexy Lexie. I'd be happy to show you around town before classes start. I can't wait for August 1. Last night, I met the other post-bac student who wasn't there the day of our interviews. We talked for a while. She said she feels really prepared to start school. I think she said their orientation is next week.

Question: How does Wake Forest look at your undergrad? Let's say I'm an URM or economically disadvantaged, and have attended a pretty good undergrad school, but have a low gpa, will that actually hinder my app? I.e. do they prefer to take people from "lesser" known schools?

I have no clue. You might want to ask them.
