Hello, I am considering Wake Forest's path residency and was wondering if someone could please share their insight with me. I am attracted to the number of fellowships here, mid-size of the program, nice rotation schedule, pretty decent funding for research, and reputation for graduating extremely competent pathologists. I am seeking a program that will allow me to either enter private practice OR academics (part-time research only) successfully. Obviously, it would also be nice to have a say in the location (i.e. city) of where I ultimately work - and in this regard, I have heard from many pathologists that the "bigger name" of the training program, the more likely you are to have such a say. Does Wake have the national visibility to give me an advantage when applying for jobs? Is this visibility limited to the south? Thank you!
