Relatively. I interviewed there 3/26, and Irene Tise told us we would be reviewed by the adcom on 4/8. Called to confirm, and they told me the letter would be in the mail system by yesterday. They are well organized. 🙂

yes, interviewed there on 2/26 and was put on the waitlist. I'm trying to do everything in my power to get in and was curious to see whether people were already getting in off the wait-list?

🙂 No, i don't think the waitlist is moving yet. wfu2005 said that Wake pretty much sticks to May 15th timeline for any sort of movement. I agree though, I would love to go to Wake too!

it looks like i'll probably end up at wake because i really liked their program but i'm still waiting for the UCs. it's hard to turn away from the low tuition, but i hope i won't have to make that decision.

yep sponch, live in SF, work at Stanford (my alma mater, graduated last year), and even grew up in the Bay Area. But I lived in Chapel Hill, NC for 6 years of my early childhood and would love to return to Wake Forest for med school! What a great program, too. And as for me and the UCs, those decisions were made for me. 🙄

technically I'm an international applicant but I went to college at UCLA, and did a year of dental school at UCSF, living in Berkeley now with my SO...so I guess I'd consider myself an honorary Californian!! Good luck to the both of you!

I will be attending Wake this fall also. 100% sure (deferred for 1 year). I'm planning to setup an unofficial class website (wfusom2007) in a few months. Goodluck to all those on the waitlists etc. 🙂

I interviewed on 3/31, received my thin-enveloped acceptance today, dated 4/15; have to decide between Wake Forest and Ohio State rather quicklike, now.

I am thrilled to report that I will officially be attending Wake Forest in the fall now. 🙂 Received my acceptance letter yesterday.

I spent the weekend agonizing, but ultimately decided to decline my Wake Forest acceptance. I feel very lucky to have had to make the difficult decision between more than one great medical school.

Hope this opens something up for one of y'all waiting in May!

Hey guys!

For those of you on the waitlist, like me, I recently e-mailed Irene Tise about what was going on with the waitlist. She basically said that it is moving a little, but they are waiting on their May 1 deadline and the AAMC May 15 deadline to find out who will be accepting their offer and who will be declining. She expects the list to start moving sometime after that. I also asked if there was anything else that could be done besides writing letters (I have written 3), and she said that now all we can do is wait.

i was waiting for my financial aid package... (and needless to say, I was kind of disgusted with what I saw...)

regardless, one more seat has opened up so congrats to whoever gets it!

I received a letter on April 28th saying that I was accepted after being on the wait list for a month and a half so they are starting to pull people off the list for all of you waiting anxiously to hear from them! However I've decided to go to a different school somewhere else so I'm giving up my spot at Wake Forest to another lucky applicant. Would love to go there, but in-state tuition is too tempting.

I think cocoabutter is probably referring to the deadline that Wake mentions in an acceptance letter: "Please send a deposit of $100 to hold your spot in the class, which is refundable until May 1st". This deadline probably gives a preliminary sense of who is going and who is staying...

For everyone else on the waitlist, from looking on the declined acceptances thread (I don't know how to post a link), I see that 5 others have also declined their acceptances to Wake Forest.

As far as picking between Wake and Drexel, where do you see yourself fitting the best? I'm biased since I'm off to Wake, but how great that you have a choice. Let us know what you choose!

mgw419, wake is one of my top choices. i would love, absolutely love to go there, but there are other factors in my decision, or should i say factor, my significant other. he is already in elsewhere, and i am waiting on my decision at that particular school. should i be accepted at that school, i am done. but if i get into wake and nothing else works out, i will be there with bells on! i just want to get in, this year! thanks for the crossed fingers. 😎

I finally made a decision and chose wake forest! After reviewing my notes from my interview trip and speaking with a student who goes there, I decided it was definitely the best place for me to be. Can't wait to get started!!!😀

Cocoabutter, thanks for posting the info from your email with Irene Tise. But in a way, I was more comfortable NOT knowing that there were ~ 300 people on the waitlist. (The search function is not working but I thought I saw that in a previous post)
Wake Forest is my number one choice and now that the waitlist has started moving, I'm back to stalking the mailman.
