Wake up

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
there are many undergrads that graduate with similar debt and end up having to take multiple low end jobs to try to pay it off because their degree that doesn't help them in this job market.

I'm always extra nice to the history majors I meet at Starbucks and thank them gratefully when they pour my coffee.

All you over there are a little late to the party...this isn't exactly breaking news. Only to the old-timers who got to pay 5K a year for your med school tuition and make bank for the last 20 years. I'm not surprised you're shocked and appalled if you haven't been paying attention.

Bottom line is medicine is one of the few remaining professions with little/no unemployment out of school, guaranteed high pay for now (relative to the rest of the population as much as you guys over there in the gas forum bitch and moan about Obamacare being the end of the world) and decent job security. Everyone's having a hard time finding jobs, being in the healthcare field is seen as a good bet. Downward pressure is going to make PA school look more and more appealing though.
