Yes sir for CPhT! Thanks! :scared: :xf:

Well, I can't help you for Wag's specifically, but I know that in Oakland, a Rite-Aid pays a fairly experienced (2 years) tech $14.25/hr. She is full time, though, and not on a pharmacy track. You can expect anywhere b/n 12 and 15 bucks. Things in, say, San Francisco proper or Berkeley will pay more, places in San Mateo, Hercules etc will pay considerably less.

Thanks. I wonder what Walgreen's is though, relative to Rite-Aid. I heard from other people it starts at 16$ entry level.

Hi, guys I think I am supposed to ask this here. Could you kindly fill me in on Walgreen's' pay rate for entry level CPhT's within the San Jose Bay area or surrounding cities? It does start at 16$, could you confirm this please? Thank you so much.

You gotta be kidding me. That sounds insanely high. 4th year pharmacy students only get ~$19.00 In Clayton, CA CPhT's pick up around ~$11.00

What's the point of getting a CPhT to make such a low salary when you can get plently of other jobs with no education that pay way better than a tech? My cousin is in a couple grand of debt to be a medical assistant from some scam school and she just got her first job making 9 an hour (took a year after graduating) while my friend works at walmart making 10.50 (applied and hired within same month).

to be honest, it's my first time hearing Clayton lol. I know where Walnut Creek is but Clayton is quite a small town with ~10,000 people.

EDIT: Actually it kinda makes sense. A dollar increase for every year added to your PharmD degree, starting at 16$

yea, Clayton is a hick town. Even if you make more money in high population areas, I can't imagine it getting that high. If it does, lemme know, b/c I'd love to get my friends to be my techs.

The problem with the CPhT pay rate v. Pharmacy Intern pay rate, I believe, is when it comes down to high COL areas. For example... the company I work for has a set pay scale for each year of pharmacy school (and the company happens to be located only in the southeast which in general has a low COL)... but a former store I used to work at is in an area with a very high COL.... so the techs are making more than I am as a pharmacy student. If I transfered back to that store to work there on breaks, I would still probably be making the same pay rate as I do in Georgia, although the area cost 3 times more to live there.

I think that may be why techs in CA start at an hourly pay which seems high compared with the set pay rate for pharmacy students?
