I am really interested about the 7 on and 7 off. I will be nearly 150k in debt when i get out of pharmacy school and i'm looking for the 7 on and 7 off once i get out of pharm school and try to work some hourly wages at a different pharmacy store or at the same place if they allow it. This way, I can try to pay off my debt within a few years. Any suggestions or comments about this? thanks

How much do you think one can make a year working like this?

It really depends on how much you want to work. I know a guy that works has been working 2 night shift jobs for three and a half years now. He does not take any days off for the most part other than his vacations which he takes back to back, so he gets 2 weeks off in a row twice a year effectively. He made close to 230k last year I think. Personally I think that he is a bit nuts, but he does bring home over $13000 a month after taxes and plans to keep it up for 5 years. The sick part is that his total monthly expenses are less than $1000 dollars and he is getting loan repayment from both jobs so pretty much all of his money goes to his savings. His goal was to hit a million in 5 years by saving and investing and I know he has already hit 700k so it looks like he will do it no problem. In any event, the point is you can make a lot of money if you want to. There are a lot of other options though. If you find a company that pays time and a half for overtime, then you can make 150k just by working 50 hour work weeks and getting time and a half for those weeks.

I just got my offer letter from CVS.
For the night shift- you work 74 hours a week, get paid for 80. Plus you get paid $5 more an hour then a regular daytime pharmacist. Sounds appealing to me. I think i might do it because im a workaholic and That gives me time during my off-week to work extra hours and pocket some more cash
