Walmart - Is the store manager above the pharmacist?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Yeah, it's your fault for not wanting to be managed by a non-pharmacist. You're being ridiculous!

I will say in my very limited experience being managed by non-pharmacists was easier than pharmacists. They are basically pushovers - "I didn't fill the script for professional reasons blah blah blah". YMMV

At Wags is the store manager's performance based directly on anything that happens in the pharmacy?

I did not like the interference from CVS store managers in regard to pharmacy business. Customer service issues that they end up encountering or CBL issues, I will address but otherwise they are usually not qualified (I will allow for store managers who were adequately trained as techs and who actually know the myriad of problems that occur with insurance) to speak on workflow matters unlike a MHWD or DM or equivalent who has undergone the appropriate training or actually has been on the bench.

I don't tell a WM store manager their store's optimization sucks so why would they come to me and inquire about the pharmacy schedule optimization? As long as there is no spillover from customer service issues I don't hear a peep.

I can't tell if this is directed at me nor if you are agreeing or using sarcasm.

The first line was sarcasm. Not directly aimed at you but playing off what you said about not having problems if you just do what they say or whatever. Having to do whatever a non-pharmacists tells you to do is the root of the complaint I think.

The rest of my post was actually sincere though. I find non-pharmacist much less willing to push around the pharmacist then other actual pharmacist are. Give me a non-pharmacist manager any day.

Lol, until go get written up for staring at the computer too long. No joke, I actually got written up for focusing on the computer screen and not being aware of my surrounding. I was staring at Clarithromycin and Simvastatin interaction. The stupid store manager thought I was slacking off and doesn't understand the severity of this interaction. The store manager had the nerve to tell me "it's just an antibiotic and cholesterol medication". This is the work culture WAGS has created by taking all power and authority away from pharmacists.

And did you speak to the DM and store manager to explain the situation?

When I say things like which is your job, I literally mean it. We are employees of a company. We have to do what we are told, it's the same as any other company or job.

Why do pharmacist think they're so special if you don't like the company you work for go work somewhere else. It's like people think we have the hardest job in the world.

Yes, I did talk to the DM, who is a non-phamacist. Guess which side he supported? Surprise, surprise...he was not on my side.

Dang, how long did this take exactly? I'd probably just hop on the phone and continue working.
