I have worked with Walmart as a technician/intern for almost 5 years. I received a tentative offer from Walmart on 11/26/14 for a post graduate internship with the understanding that I would become a pharmacist after passing the NAPLEX and MPJE. I signed and returned the offer on 12/2/14 but have not heard anything. I've sent a couple of emails to the recruiter, as well as calling and leaving one voicemail.

I have a classmate who is also having trouble with them and has not heard anything either.

I was wondering if anyone else has been able to hear anything back from their Walmart recruiter. I found this (http://forums.studentdoctor.net/thr...o-beginning-employment.1022586/#post-15123157) from a year ago that sounds similar to my situation.

I had the same problem. I called everyday for about 2 weeks along with sending emails and voicemails. I was able to catch the recruiter very early in the morning on the phone and she answered my questions and mentioned i will be contacted closer to graduation for specific details.

So i suggest calling on a daily basis until someone picks up... it was a bit frustrating for me. but just keep trying! 🙂

Good to know I'm not the only one. I think walmart needs to hire an HR department or secretary for these higher ups.

Thank you very much for your reply! It is promising that I'm not the only one.

how long do you stay as graduate intern??

The letter stated that I would have 120 days to become licensed to transition to a pharmacist role.

You are welcome.

Does anyone know if the grad intern rate stated on the tentative offer letter is half the pay rate of a licensed pharmacist when you transition?

To answer all questions in this thread, and to add a bit more info:

Yes, the grad intern rate is half of what your RPh rate will be.

You are a grad intern until you are licensed as an RPh.

As was mentioned, you have 120 days from the date of hire to obtain your license.

After you sign the grad intern offer and return it, you will eventually be contacted...near the time of your graduation...for background check and drug testing.

Upon passing the checks and being hired you will be given a date for orientation with the DM and fill out all the needed paperwork.

You will then be scheduled as a grad intern in a store until you are licensed.

Upon licensure you will be transitioned to RPh.

Good luck! I've enjoyed my time at Wally!

THANKS!!!!
