Seems like Walmart bitched out after making big statements.

Walmart said in May 2018 it would be transitioning completely to e-prescriptions by 2020.

With the SUPPORT Act requiring EPCS for Medicare Part D claims by 2021 and other states implementing mandatory EPCS by 2020, Walmart doesn't really need to be at the forefront of this. Walmart also lost a lot of scripts due to their opioid policies so they don't want any more backlash by prohibiting paper prescriptions or faxes.
