Hi,
I have recently grown an interest in dentistry, and would like to know peoples opinions on what my chances are to get into dental school. I went to college for computer science in 2015-2019, and graduated with a 2.99 GPA with 125 hours. Technically my Science GPA not including my CS classes is a 3.2, but if we include my comp sci courses I'm at a 2.91. Either way I would need to take quite a few courses outside of what I took in undergraduate since the only relevant courses I've taken are CHEM 1, lot of math, and physics (but my PHYS 1408 PHYS 2401 were taken abroad and pass or fail so I'm unsure if these will count which is why I put them below). Below are the courses I have found at a local community college.
Along with the updated GPA's if I get an A in every course.
Along with trying to get 100 hours shadowing, and assuming my DAT score's are above 20, what are my chances looking like? I specifically am looking towards U of M as it is an instate school and have been looking at their requirements, but I don't mind looking elsewhere.
I also wanted to ask if taking a post bacc pre-med similar to this one would be a better idea than taking these classes at community college? Reading here I am told Michigan accepts maxs 60 hours of community college credit and I would only be taking 44, but the requirements sheet I've been reading discourages community college. I'm late to the game at 28 years old and my original field was not medical, so I don't mind taking my time to make sure I'm ready, I just don't know what the best way is to break into the medical field from where I am.
Thank you all in advance for all the help!
