Have you volunteered/shadowed/attended events at any dental schools? No
Relevant Honors or Awards:
Deans honors list (fall 2020), was a part of the honors program for 3 years, GBP Honors society
LOR type and strength:
2 science prof (still waiting for 1 to submit) - fairly strong
1 dentist - strong (shadowed, worked)
1 from program coordinator of hospital I volunteered at (not so strong)

School list:

  • UCLA
  • USC
  • UCSF
  • UoP
  • Loma Linda
  • Western U
  • NYU?
  • Touro
  • Temple
  • Boston U
  • Tufts?
  • LECOM
  • Oregon health & science U
  • Roseman
  • U of Colorado
I based my school list on OOS acceptance percentage + my stats and tried to apply broadly. Financially, I did want to limit the amount of schools I apply to. One of my concerns is applying to NYU and Tufts since they are quite pricey and unlike USC I won’t be able to commute, but I don’t want to risk taking another gap year.

Welcome to the forums!

If you are trying to trim your list, I'm not sure if you're not devout, I would reconsider Loma Linda, but it is an in-state program for you. If you don't want to apply to Tufts or NYU, then keep them off. What is your reason for Temple, Colorado, and OHSU? Why are you not including the Arizona schools?

  • if you are worried about costs, eliminate these and add a few mountain or central schools...

I actually didn’t take anatomy so I didn’t meet the prerequisite requirements
at all but one school that i know of, prereqs need to be taken before starting school, not before applying...

I didn’t have a specific reason for Temple, Colorado, and OHSU but just saw they accepted a decent percentage of OOS and my stats seemed to be around their average. I thought because I didn’t have the anatomy prerequisite, I couldn’t apply but knowing I can take it after applying I may replace nyu and tufts with UNLV and Arizona schools
