Hi everyone!

I have average/below average stats but I hope I still have a shot at getting into a medical school! Please let me know if you think this is possible even with my current stats! I am open to any and all feedback and appreciate the help! Thank you!

  1. GPA:
    1. cGPA: 3.46 / sGPA(AMCAS): 3.33 / sGPA(AACOMAS): 3.41 (The trend makes a V shape, started with dropping gpa's then came back with an upward trend)
  2. MCAT:
    1. Practice Score: 504 (127/124/128/125 (Actual MCAT date is end of June so hopefully that goes up as I keep grinding!)
  3. Nevada resident

I would love thoughts and opinions on a school list that I have a serious chance at. None of my family members have ever gone to college so I feel pretty in the dark right now with some of my options and potential given the above information.

Thank you so much!!!!! Wish you all the best!

Here is a school list that I have created:

UNLV
UNR
Touro NV
ICOM
U of U
AT Still AZ
AT Still MO
Kaiser Permanente
Texas Christian University

U of A Phoenix
U of A Tuscon

Wake Forest School of Medicine of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center
Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine

No bets without an official MCAT result.

Sent from my SM-N960U using SDN mobile

True. I am sorry I couldn't provide an official MCAT result. Since Covid-19 has postponed my and many others' MCAT exams, I can only provide my latest practice exams with the hope that I can get help with formulating a list of schools that I can potentially apply to. Unfortunately by the time I get my official MCAT score, it will be late for me to ask the WAMC questions as the applications will be sent in to my school list by then to be in the first round of applications.

@Goro @Faha I would be extremely grateful for your expert advice and feedback on my chances/school list and if there are any schools I should add or take away.

Thanks for your time!

There is no point in applying to schools without a MCAT score since your application will not be evaluated for an interview until you receive a score. You could apply to your 2 Nevada MD schools and add more schools later based on your score. The same with DO. You could apply to TUNCOM and add more schools later depending on your score. Also for DO schools November is not late to apply .

Sorry, I think I explained my situation incorrectly.

I will be applying to schools WITH an MCAT score. I am taking the exam June 20 and will receive my score on July 4 and the applications will be sent to medical schools on July 10. So my application will be sent with the first wave of apps.

I gave my latest practice MCAT exam with these stats because I am currently filling out my application and have to start coming up with a well developed list of schools. I know that you have lots of knowledge on the subject and was wondering if you could give suggestions based on what I have so far. That way I can develop some type of list that can be of help when choosing schools for this cycle.

I hope that made sense.

Without an actual score it is not possible to give you an accurate list. However, many of the schools on your list are unrealistic with your GPA. Meharry and Howard accept applicants mainly from the African American community. U Washington accepts less than 1% of applicants who are not from states in the Northwest (and most of those are MD-PhD applicants). The Arizona schools, Louisiana State accept very few non residents with your GPA and no connection to the state.

Okay, thank you for the feedback! I will probably cut those out. Do you think I am doing okay for the DO range schools?
