Hi everyone! I'm an ORM in a major that's heavily computer-science based with tons of grad-level sciences courses, which in my opinion was challenging but it's not as well known and of course everyone thinks their major is challenging!
My application essays are very focused on the nexus between the humanities and sciences (I studied both) and applying their principles to compassionate patient care.
EC's (rough estimate of hours):
~Hundreds of hours as an EMT
~a little over a 100 hours shadowing various physicians (significant hours for each one, not spread thinly)
~40 or so hours tutoring for the underserved population, with more to come to make over 100. Also 40-ish hours spend volunteering for the food bank
~Editor in chief of a journalistic org at my school, and president of a medical org
~A little over 100 hours of research and a co-author on a paper (not yet published)
~I'm also a writer and got published somewhere, not sure if that matters but I added it since it taught me lessons about medicine? But this is a huge part of who I am and I talked about it/how it intersects with medicine in my app
I would appreciate feedback on my tentative school list. I'm thinking of narrowing it down but am wary of cutting out schools... I chose most of these schools based on their central mission of providing ethical, patient-centered care. Some do care about research and I have research experience and care about using it to better the patient experience, so that may come into play as well.

Creighton University School of Medicine
California Northstate University College of Medicine (doesn't seem to accept many out of state)
Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (also doesn't seem to accept many OOS, but has a 3-year accelerated program for those wanting to go into internal med/pediatrics I'd be interested in)
Georgetown University School of Medicine (I know it's low yield but I really resonate with their social values)
George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Science
Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University
Tufts University School of Medicine
Tulane University School of Medicine (Low yield but they seem to like students who pursued both the humanities/sciences and apply it to patient care, which I really care about)
Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine
Rush Medical College of Rush University Medical Center
Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine
Thank you so much for your help!
