Stats: 1100 research hours UTHSCSA - 1 middle author pub (IF 14 journal), maybe 2nd by app time
- 200hrs campus research lab- overall bad fit, didn't last long
- 400 volunteer hospice worker, leader of school chapter for what its worth
- 300 hrs individual tutoring + 130 group tutoring (both for campus dept)
- 88 volunteer soup kitchen
- 30 hrs youth center volunteer
- ~45 hrs shadowing (radiology, cardiology, CT surg)
- LA for 4000 lvl anatomy class
- LORs: Research PI, tutor advisor, 2 upper lvl bio profs
- time in 3 campus orgs but no real significant role
- hobbies IM soccer/gym (tons of hours, prolly doesn't matter too much)
- Taking gap year bc life destroyed first two years of college and coms prolly won't really care; taking clinical focused gap year, program still pending or EMT/er scribe
overall slightly salty about MCAT, but dont care to retake. I technically qualify as URM but look and grew up super white so idk if counts. Senior taking gap year. IDK my chances in Texas tbh, I want to do some form of surgery or just operational type medicine, but overall undecided so idk where to apply or target. feedback helps, Ik a lot is determined by writing, but not sure ifI'm someone who stacks up after basically only having two years to do stuff in college (freshman/sophomore year basically got voided bc of stuff I can't control and don't love explaining to adcoms if im honest) If you know who I am irl, dont tell me lol.
