Hi everyone! I got my MCAT score yesterday and it was much higher than I expected, so I’m a little lost in terms of making a school list…any edits/additions to make it feel less top-heavy would be greatly appreciated!!

  10. Non-clinical volunteering
    1. Working with a nonprofit raising money for HIV/AIDS research, as well as LGBTQ+ community outreach (~100 hours, I initially projected 50 more hours because of covid but the organization reopened earlier than I expected, so I will probably have closer to 100 additional hours)
  11. Work Experiences
    1. Tutor for chemistry, anatomy, Spanish, and math at my university, (~450 hours, ~100 more projected)
  12. Other extracurricular activities (including athletics, military service, gap year activities, leadership, teaching, etc)
    1. I’m a runner, and I have some other unique hobbies I mentioned in my app
    2. Not sure if this counts as leadership per se, but in my tutoring job I help to train new hires and to lead workshops about improving the quality of tutoring at the center
    3. Studied abroad in Spain for a summer
  13. Relevant honors or awards
    1. Presidential scholarship
    2. Dean’s list (5 out of 6 semesters, covid ruined my streak lol)
    3. Phi Beta Kappa
  14. Immediate family members in medicine? (y/n): healthcare yes, but no doctors
  15. Specialty of interest: so far, I'm open to anything!
  16. Graduate degrees: none
  17. Interest in rural health (y/n): open to anything!
  18. Some other random stuff:
    1. I’m really interested in working with underserved populations, especially Spanish speakers and the LGBTQ+ community
    2. I want to pursue an MPH or a similar combined degree, but I’m not married to the idea

Remove Cooper and Quinnipiac since they will "yield protect". You could add any of these schools:
Brown
Rochester
Case Western
Cincinnati
Vanderbilt
Duke
Kaiser
USC Keck
UCSF
UCLA
