Hours are calculated for what they will be when I apply. I’m taking my first gap year right now and plan to apply May 2023. During my second gap year and application cycle, I plan to spend most of the time working as a scribe and volunteering. The one thing I’m worried about is if my research experience is lacking because I know the rest of my application is competitive.

I plan to widely apply all over the states and especially in states with opportunities for outdoor adventures, including mountains and oceans because that is my biggest interest and how I like to spend free time.

Let me know if you can help me out with a list!

Thanks! Do you think it would be worth retaking the MCAT? I have heard that my app is competitive but my downfall is my MCAT score

Your MCAT is not your downfall. But it would be nice getting more details on the categories where you have claimed 1000+ hours of experience.
My clinical experience comes from working in a hospital during college and the predicted are from my gap year job as a scribe.

My non-clinical volunteering comes from a variety of sources (working with youth programs, food shelf etc.) including a bunch of hours from during covid when classes were online.

My leadership comes from a college org that I was a part of all 4 years and was a leader for 3 of those years. Lots of weekly meetings, monthly meetings, retreats, events, planning, etc.

My non-clinical jobs were mostly in the summers between college in a variety of jobs and also a job I had on campus freshman year.

I was a tutor and TA for multiple classes for 2 years.
