  1. Undergrad cGPA: 3.93 (4.0 post baccalaureate/science)
  2. MCAT score(s): 507 (127,127, 127, 126) -- taking this exam was hell for me. English is my second language and never took any standardized test before except the nclex which is not even close to this. Worked in cars and p/s which were my 124-125 lowest practice scores. During exam, someone pulled a fire alarm when I had 2 passages to work on and was evacuated when I had 4 questions left which were left blank. No help from AAMC other than void. Retaking is tricky because I don’t know if I can score higher. I have a one year old baby and my dog had a neck subluxation right when I started MCAT prep. I have a full plate guys. This dog was completely paralyzed and is now walking, but it has taken so much work.
  3. State of residence or country of citizenship: TX; USA
  4. Ethnicity and/or race: Latina born and raised in Honduras (just became US citizen)
  5. Undergraduate institution or category: not sure (it’s UT.)
  6. Other information about myself: as I mentioned I am a registered nurse. Immigrant and have been in the US 12 years. Started from zero with no money for 4 year college or loans (F1 visa at the time). Got my RN license (associate degree) to gain employment and did a BSN program while working full time. Husband is very supportive and willing to relocate if Texas doesn’t accept me. Scared to apply because of my MCAT. I have 5000+ paid clinical hours, not many non clinical hours ~80, 120 research hours, 150 non paid clinical hours. Working pro bono at a free clinic serving uninsured patients (mainly Hispanics) and as an undergrad lab assistant at the moment.
I can apply to 50 schools if I have to and will apply broadly.

Please don’t apply to 50 schools; it would be a waste of money. Faha will be able to help you with a specific list, but it will probably include TX schools, DO schools near you, and a few MD schools in other states.

Apply to all your Texas TMDSAS MD and DO schools and you should receive interviews. For AMCAS MD schools I suggest these:
TCU
Tulane
Roseman
Alice Walton
Belmont
Arizona (Tucson and Phoenix)
Oakland Beaumont
Creighton
Rosalind Franklin
Medical College Wisconsin
Drexel
Temple
Georgetown
George Washington
You are competitive for all DO schools and addition to TCOM and Sam Houston State I suggest these:
UIWSOM
OSU-COM
AZCOM
TUNCOM
KCU-COM
ATSU-KCOM
DMU-COM
MU-COM
CUSOM
PCOM
NYITCOM
Touro-NY
LECOM-Bradenton
