Three interviews over two cycles yes. Two different schools. One has interviewed me back to back cycles now and both have resulted in a WL

What feedback did the school that placed you on a WL give you before you reapplied? What did you do to significantly improve your application for this cycle?

No to Caribbean. You are competitive for all DO schools and should receive several interviews from the ones l listed.

Just curious, why is Caribbean so advised against in general?

Only ~50% ever graduate and match at a US residency. For DO schools it is over 90%. The Caribbean students are also attracting fewer of the better quality students since they are admitted to the many new MD and DO schools instead.

This year though in the case I have to reapply I have continued to work full time and have obtained a position at my volunteer organization as an ‘event coordinator’ where I plan and set up community food drives for homeless and immigrant populations.

What do you think?

If being an event coordinator means managing other volunteers with the food drives, I want to know how many of your reported hours are administrative tasks (getting the publicity, venue prep, making copies) vs. direct interaction with those in need.

So I have about 300 hours in direct interaction with those in need and I would say about 100 hours has now been accumulated managing and setting up events. By the time I reapply it should be around 400-450 direct contact and 200+ hours coordinating events. I just started coordinating events in January so it was never in my app in the first place.

So you only had... 200 hours when you applied? How did you describe this activity? Why was this activity important to you and for us to understand why you want to be a physician?
