cGPA: 3.61, sGPA: 3.59(DO), 3.57(MD), strong upward trend
MCAT: range between 500-505, testing 4/29
State of Residence: OH
Ethnicity: ORM, Asian Female
Undergrad: State school
Clinical experience:
- 1300 hours scribing in ED
- 20 hours volunteering in Pediatrics until COVID happened 🙁
Research experience: none, but have an interview for a clinical research job this Monday - hoping to get some hours in before apps
Shadow experience: none 🙁
Non-clinical volunteering:
- 200 hours in food pantry at my church 2017-2019,
- ~100 hours crisis text line by app cycle
Leadership: was scribe ambassador for 7 months (training scribes, did presentations at uni about scribing opportunities)
Other extracurricular activities: didn't really get involved in undergrad (social anxiety), studied abroad for one semester but did not do any health-related stuff
LOR: two strong science letters, one MD letter
Other: first gen, no family in medicine, was a caretaker/translator for my immigrant grandmother for a couple of months after she suffered a heart attack

This is all conjecture until you actually take and receive your MCAT scores, but you have a good shot at DO if you manage to score in the upper range of your practice exams. You need to shadow in a primary care setting and continue your non-clinical volunteering.

But really, it's impossible to gauge your chances without an MCAT score.
 
Can’t tell without an MCAT.

You can shadow physicians through your scribe position and try to get more in other specialities through their network. I would not advise applying without it. If needed, you could take out some of your scribing hours and list it as shadowing since that involves close work with physicians.

It would help to have more recent non clinical volunteering. Your last in-person activity for that was 3 years ago.
