Hey all! I’m finalizing my school list, and I’ve gotten a little neurotic about the whole thing. I would love any input regarding my school choices, and whether I’m applying broadly enough!

Stats: cGPA/sGPA: 3.61/3.5, upwards trend MCAT: 517

ECs:

  • ED Medical Scribe, current. 200+ hours so far.
  • Research Associate in Biotech/Cancer research, 3 years post graduation
  • College Research, 300ish hours over a summer and semester. No pubs, no findings :/ Focused on aggregating proteins in relation to neuron development.
  • Resident Assistant for my College, 2 years. Lead RA, working primarily with freshmen through the pandemic.
  • Shadowing, 120ish hours across Radiology, Urgent Care and Plastic Surgery
  • Community Service, 1200 hours. Helped build a program servicing Sanctuary Cities as an affordable Summer Camp alternative. Raised 3000+ dollars to fund it, and served as Art Director for our program in South Central LA and Richmond, CA.

Kentucky and SUNY Downstate admit few non residents with no connection to the state. I suggest adding more schools and consider these:
UC Irvine
Western Michigan
Medical College Wisconsin
Creighton
TCU
Drexel
George Washington
Hackensack
Albany

Oh, totally forgot to add UCI! Thanks for the advice. Do you think the spread looks alright for my stats?

SoCal. Not an inland empire guy, though I do have roots up there! Figured that as long as I was a CA applicant, I might as well apply to all the state schools.
