Hello all!

Canadian seeking some help with my school list. Some are a reach bc of my MCAT (I know :/) but this is what I have so far:

Meharry
Central Michigan
Michigan State
SUNY Upstate
UC Davis
George Washington U
U of Illinois
Tulane
Wayne State
West Virginia
Hawaii
UCLA
U of Colorado
Sidney Kimmel
TCU
Virginia Commonwealth
Emory
New York Medical College

Not super familiar with which schools have strong in-state preferences etc. but am slowly making my way through MSAR. My stats are 3.74 cGPA unsure about sGPA but it is probably very similar/maybe a bit higher; 509 MCAT (126/127/128/129).

ECs:
- ~1000 hours as a tutor (paid job)
- 350 hours as camp leader
- 420 paid (clinical) hours as a medical assistant + 40 hours of shadowing in a chronic pain clinic
- 230 volunteer hours for a non-profit working w/kids from low SES backgrounds
- 250 volunteer hours for advocacy organization
- 40 hours writing for school newspaper
- 200 hours (unpaid/volunteer) as an RA for a pediatric research study
- 300 complete + 300 more anticipated as a paid RA for another pediatric research study

Also planning on applying DO but have not yet looked into schools. Any suggestions are welcomed!

A MCAT of 509 is not competitive for any MD schools for Canadian applicants.
You could receive interviews at some DO schools and I suggest these:
KCU-COM
MSUCOM
LUCOM
NSU-KPCOM
UNECOM
WCU-COM
WESTERN
Touro-NY
AZCOM
CCOM
You could check and see if any of the newer schools (Noorda, Touro-Montana, RVU-Montana, KHSC-COM) are accepting applications from Canadians.
