I am compiling a list of schools and looking for opinions. I intend on rural, family med so you will notice the lack of cities on the list...

White male
Midwesterner
Sibling is a DO, strong shadowing with other DO's
1000 work hours in a chiropractic clinic since high school
Limited research 25-30 hours

MCAT breakdown Chem 127/CARS 126/BIO 123/ Psych 125. I switched from a non-science major 2nd year of college and I am still finishing pre req's. I haven't had Bio Chem and that seemed to hurt me on the test. On a positive, every grade since switching (including O Chem) has been an A....

DMU
Midwestern (I know both are long shots but in my backyard so to speak)
Marian
Oklahoma (strong family ties)
Orlando (strong family ties)
Idaho
LMU
PCOM Georgia
Kentucky
AT Stills both campuses
All thoughts and opinions welcome. TIA

Welcome to the forums.

Knowing your specific state will help you to gauge in-state options. For example, Illinois has an RMED program that you should apply to, but they favor in-state applicants. Kansas residents should be interviewed at KU and the other Kansas DO schools.

Also, LECOM has a couple of rural campuses, and you noted PCOM-SOUTH Georgia. VCOM has a South Carolina campus, and NYCOM has a campus in Arkansas. VCOM also has a Louisiana campus. You don't need to stray too far from the usual DO "giants."

Thank you for your reply. I am in Illinois.

You could add any of these DO schools:
VCOM (all 4 schools)
WCU-COM
ACOM
WVSOM
ARCOM
NYIT-AR
LECOM
Thank you. Do you feel I have a decent enough chance at those schools or is that based on my preference for rural location?
