Very, very sorry to hear of this terrible, horrible trauma. As a father of a daughter, it cuts me to bone.

Your academic story is common with trauma victims. What are your year by year GPAs. It's the recovery that will count, not the cGPA that you have, as you appear to have displayed reinvention.

I wouldn't blame you for a second for the IG post. Just own it like you have here.

I hope you are at a better place in your life now after that terrible trauma. See if it is possible to retroactively withdraw from classes that semester, it may help your GPA. Regardless of that, an upward trend is a big plus, especially with what the circumstances were earlier during your time as a student.

Sophomore Year: 2.81 (the semester immediately following my Title IX hearing really brought it down because my semester gpa was a 2.5)
Junior Year: 3.53
Senior Year: 3.67

It's an OK recovery, but could be better. Fine for any DO school, MD with a strategic list.

Wow. I'm hoping you have found some path to healing from that trauma. I suggest getting some help with counselors when it comes to carefully writing and answering questions about it in the process. While there will be some sensitivity about this, reliving the investigation too much is probably what I would worry most about you as an admissions professional if I brought you to an interview (and I mean how my faculty or interviewers will approach the topic).

You can opt to disclose simple facts for the PS and/or any adversity essay prompts you will encounter, but your passion/purpose on community service is very clear from the activities list. I would not think you are totally off the board for allopathic programs, but I would likely think that a postbac year may put you back on the radar.

Now let's get to the application. You haven't taken or haven't completed biochemistry? You know there are some topics that are in the MCAT, so I always suggest completing your prerequisite courses before taking the MCAT.
