I am applying as a disadvantaged student. I am a first-generation college student, from a rural town, and I come from a very poor family. I have worked, mainly, full-time throughout college in order to support myself and to help support my parents, and grandparents. I have tutored microbiology, biology, and geology; however, I did not get compensated, so I didn't list it.

I am worried that I am not a good candidate for medical school due to my subpar GPA. I do believe that working full-time, shadowing, volunteering, and attending college full-time have negatively impacted my grades, but I should have worked harder and I am affraid that medical school admission committees will think the same. I am willing to attend both MD and DO schools.

You should definitely list your tutoring as teaching or nonclinical volunteering.
