Hi there, a bit stressed with playing the waiting game on my applications, and would be grateful for any sort of feedback. I'm mostly worried about my experience, as it isn't as diverse as some of the other resumes out there. 23 M, graduated this May. First time applicant a number of schools (in state would be UC Davis).

GPA:
Cumulative - 3.94
Last 45 - 3.95
Overall Science - 3.96

Vet/Animal Experience:
1500+ hours as a vet assistant at GP
40 hours as vet assistant at spay/neuter clinics in Costa Rica
10 hours shadowing exotic animal surgery
20 hours shadowing small animal surgery
8 hours shadowing zoo veterinarian

Worked as a Biology tutor, TA, and study session leader
1000 hours doing research in immunology (HIV)

Lots of non-animal related work experience in restaurants, warehouses, etc.
A bit of volunteer experience at church and food pantry

Two scholarships awarded, Dean's list, summa cum laude honors

LOR's from:
Veterinarian from the clinic I worked at
PI for my HIV research
Biology professor who knows me well

I think you’ll be fine. More variety in vet experience certainly wouldn’t hurt, but I think you have an excellent chance, especially at places that put a big emphasis on grades.
I see, thank you so much for the input! I do hope to intern at a wildlife center this coming Spring, so maybe that could help to mention in interviews if I do get the position.

I had a similar application with a 3.98GPA, 10k vet assistant hours, and overseas experience and was denied at OSU but accepted at RVC. More practical grading schools will likely accept you on the spot (CSU, Cornell) but if you're applying to a place that doesn't care about grades like OSU, you may have difficulty if you're unlucky during the interview.

Thank you so much for the feedback! If you don't mind, did you apply to any other schools in the US and have luck with those?
