I am an incoming senior applying this cycle. In-state is UC Davis. out of state for UPenn, UF, Cornell, and Colorado State. I am honestly feeling very scared about applying this cycle, so any advice is super appreciated!!!
Cumulative GPA: 3.659
science GPA: 3.6
last 45: 3.6
Any degrees achieved: will end with a B.S in Animal Science
Veterinary Experience (these all are general estimate)
- (450) small animal GP private practice
- (300) small animal emergency
Animal Experience:
- (50) vole care volunteer
-(12) horseplay therapeutic riding
Research Experience:
- (100) primate behavior in 1 lab
- (100) primate behavior in another lab
-(200) fish welfare lab (worked under a grad student who was a vet, so i could place this as vet hours as well)
Awards/scholarships:
- merit scholarship entering college
- A cappella group placed in quarters and semis in our competitions
Extracurriculars:
- Pre-vet club (officer for 2 years)
- competitive A Cappella 4 years (officer 2 years)
- Professional Fraternity (around 1.5 years)
Employment:
- just abt to start a job at a hospice care unit of a human hospital (need money and it paid well)
LOR's
- PI from my lab
- GP vet
- prof in small discussion class (class focused on the philosophy of interactions of animals + humans)
I honestly do not know how to feel about being a strong applicant this cycle as my GPA is lacking and my diversity of animal + vet experience.
