Very grateful (two days until D day!) for the two interviews I did. I loved Touro! I am wondering what my chances are for post dec interviews, especially Rutgers? I am hoping to hear from them most of all, and also hope to hear from Temple, NYU, Buffalo, and Tufts.

i'd say that your chances at interviews at publics and ivies are not high
privates will depend on your letters of rec and ps and the needs of the class

how did you do on your 2 interviews?

Very well. My interviewer at Touro said I was the kind of person they are looking for, and we went well over the time because we were connecting on topics. UNE was kira, but I felt I gave compelling responses.

Post-December II's are possible, so don't lose hope especially with Rutgers as an in-state. If you have strong mission fit, they'll find you.

Having your mom get kicked in the face by a horse... okay, that's novel. But I'm not sure that is compelling for an interview that wants to know why YOU want to be a dentist. I guess I'll have to look into the rest of your PS and any school-specific essays if prompted.

I briefly described it as my first exposure to dentistry- especially rural care as we experienced challenges accessing proper treatment. I mentioned how seeing first hand what it is like to lose function of your jaw/teeth made me realize how important dentistry is. Then how shadowing/job as an assistant helped me learn that dentistry fit into what I desired: to work with my hands, pursue a healthcare career, and autonomy as a business owner. Focused throughout my PS on my experience as a dental assistant, how I am motivated by treating patients one on one- something I consider great about dentistry, that you can connect with patients long term. I referenced specific experiences that tied into how my personality fits the career and why I became passionate about day to day dental work :)

As always, thank you for your insight!
