WAMC for T20: 4.0/519 ORM

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You should apply to U Maryland. Other schools to consider are:
Washington University (in St. Louis)
Vanderbilt
Northwestern
NYU
Columbia
Cornell
My MCAT falls below the median for all of these schools you mentioned (and some on my current list as well), so I was hesitant to include these in fear of applying too top-heavy but will look into adding these. I've also been very intentional in selecting schools that have faculty or departments in the research I'm interested in.

If the school doesnt have this area of research, I'd also be happy at a place strong in innovation/entrepreneurship. Are there any other target schools that would be strong in healthcare entrepreneurship?

@Goro @LizzyM would love to hear your advice as well.

You aren't a cookie cutter applicant and although you are below the median for some of the schools suggested to you, your application may have enough je ne sais quoi to get you interviewed.

You should also be aware that Washington University offers interviews to approximately 1/3 of applicants who complete secondaries.

Surely you understand the concept of median? The students at those schools can't be like the kids from Lake Wobegone, who are all above average.

You are competitive for any med school in the US. Start list with WashU and radiate outwards

This - while the nonclinical hours are fairly low, the ECs are impressive, and the GPA and MCAT are top-20 material.

Your numbers combined with your activities/research will get you interviews at many of those schools. After that it's up to you.

Also, please apply to all your in-state schools and get the list to around 20-25 if you're going to be that top heavy.

Yeah. In your shoes I’d add around 8 midtiers to the list as well as the top 20s and your state schools. If you have a compelling reason to keep your school list small, make sure to add all of your state schools and have a quarter of the list be mid-tiers. Good luck - you’re a rock star!
