For my gap year, I am not sure if I should do more research or do AmeriCorps. These hours are compiled at present time, some of them honestly may be under-reported excluding the non-clinical hours. and no to the last part unfortunately.

You have enough research for any but the most research-heavy schools.

I don't think you need to do an immersive long volunteer experience like Americorps.
However, the community service volunteer/nonclinical section of your application is very empty so focus on that part first to accumulate 150 hours or more before May when you will be filling out your application.
Look in your own community to find something that is not teaching/tutoring.
If no ideas come to you, go to your local United Way office and ask what's needed. Food Bank, nursing home volunteer, etc.
