SLU(ish)/Rush/Loyola/Creighton(im pretty sure) are heavily service-oriented. Is your sGPA similar to your GPA? There are better schools that would fit your stats/profile instead. In general I would try and get at least 150 reportable hours of non clinical. Also according to faculty on here, its hard to get Out-of-texas II's because they assume youll be going to a TMDSAS school

yeah the goal is to get more non-clinical volunteering done during my gap but little tough with the situation right now

my sGPA is little lower (i think 3.59-3.61 ish)

What other schools would fit better?

To qualify as a Texas resident you should have been living in Texas for 12 consecutive months as of October 1, 2020.
If you haven't been in Texas quite that long yet, you will likely be categorized as a resident of whatever state you have been living in.
If you are indeed a Texan and have just gone to Notre Dame for college, you are still a Texan.
Refer to the TMDSAS guidelines for shades of gray in there, or to my post on this topic: Texas Residency Status: How Does TMDSAS determine it?

Good luck!

Great! You are a good candidate for any Texas school. I know Texas GPA medians are super high but you have other strengths so go for them all.

What other schools would fit better?
Id replace those 4 with VCU, Einstein, Jefferson, Wake Forest imo. Id replace drexel with EVMS or WVU as I've heard bad things about it. Im sure someone more knowledgable can provide a better school list tho

mind if i ask why those 4 schools specifically?
I changed OSU to VCU, but because theyre midstat/upper midstat schools that will place a good value on your research success thus far and don't look for crazy amounts of nonclinical volunteering. Tailoring your school list to things like that is important so you don't waste money on the wrong schools and miss out on opportunities at ones that your app fits with.

HUGE EDIT: Keep Loyola bc they are jesuit, forgot that Notre dame is jesuit

Thinking of these for now + all Texas public schools:
So what feedback did you get from your prehealth advising committee? If I were on that committee, I'd have real concerns with the lack of clinical exposure. 18 shadowing hours and just about 100 volunteering hours? Given that you're at a Jesuit institution, 40 non-clinical hours of volunteer work isn't that impressive, especially if you're trying to shoot for a top tier school. Which schools have you connected with in Texas since TMDSAS has such a different matching process? As an in-state TX resident, your chances are best in-state and not at the high-power private schools you have listed.

For the clinical hours, I have a part time job right now as a medical assistant so I figure that would cover it for now. For non-clinical hours of volunteering, I was supposed to start somewhere this May but it's on hold for the moment due to covid19. I know my best chances are with in-state schools but I'm just trying to narrow down the list I have.

Norte Dame isn’t Jesuit. But I am VERY surprised that you got through their premed with so little in the way of service. ND might not be Jesuit but they are huge in service. Your clinical and shadowing are weak too. It seems that you graduated in 5/19. Is that correct? What have you been doing since graduation? And in addition to Loyola, SLU and Creighton are Jesuit too(Georgetown too). And OP, RUSH has an insane expectation for service and clinical experiences. Their applicants have hundreds if not thousands of hours in these areas. You don’t have any where near what they expect.

I worked as a tutor while studying for the MCAT. In March I got a job as an MA at a internal medicine clinic and been working since. Should I continue to look for shadowing opportunities right now? Also, would just working at a food bank be worth it? I've been really trying to find a volunteering project that would get me going but from looks of it, I just need some kind of hours?

I have also remembered few more things I volunteered for and added them in

n=1 but my roommate had a good cycle for his stats (lower than you) and his only clinical experience and shadowing was the ~100 hours of scribing he listed that he planned to continue thru the gap year (projected 700+)
