Have you connected with any affinity or mentoring organizations such as the SNMA, especially for connecting with Black male physicians? (There are a few.) Seek out a couple of them and make sure they give you advice. Definitely include HBCU programs and refine your list to those programs that you know will support you as a student and beyond.
