Finalizing my school list and looking for advice! Attended a large public CA university. Applying to most CA schools and many OOS - looking to apply to up to 25 schools due to my late primary application.

Originally took the MCAT in 2016 without studying as a sort of diagnostic, got 505 (66%; 125/127/126/127)

Studied and took again this year, got 511 (84%; 127/126/128/130)

Graduated with 3.83 cGPA, 3.86 sGPA. ORM -- white female. LizzyM: 69.3.

Over 1600 hours of clinical experience, ~1500 hours of lab research divided between a few paid internships/unpaid lab work at Uni. No publications unfortunately :'(

Current school list:

UCLA David Geffen
UCSF
UCI
UCD
UCSD
UCR

Question marks in front of schools which might be too big of a reach, thoughts? Schools to add, schools to remove?

U Washington accepts less than 1% of applicants who are not from states in the Northwest and Oregon accepts few non residents. I suggest these OOS schools as realistic choices:
Tufts
Vermont
Quinnipiac
New York Medical College
Seton Hall
Penn State
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
George Washington
Georgetown
Eastern Virginia
Virginia Commonwealth
NOVA MD
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Medical College Wisconsin
Loyola
Rush
Rosalind Franklin
St. Louis
Creighton
Tulane
Also add California University (new school) and Kaiser when it opens .

Out of curiosity, why did you take a career-deciding, high stakes exam without any preparation? I'm curious as to why people make such self-defeating choices.

Here is a more realistic list:
U VM
U Miami (maybe)
U Toledo
Rush
NYMC
Creighton
Tufts
Albany
Rosy Franklin
Drexel
Temple
MCW
SLU
WVU
Wayne State
Tulane
Loyola
Wake Forest
Loma Linda (only if you are SDA or a very devout Christian)
VCU
Netter
Seton Hall
EVMS
Oakland-B
Gtown
GWU
Uniformed Services University/Hebert (just be aware of the military service commitment)
Nova MD
Cal U
UCI
UCD
UCR IF you're from the Inland Empire
Any DO program. I can't recommend Touro-NY, Nova, Wm Carey, LUCOM, for different reasons. MSUCOM? Read up on Larry Nasser and you decide.
