Hi all,
I'm in the process of crafting my school list and would love some feedback! Much of my application is centered around how art has informed me of medicine and was wondering if there are any schools that would be more receptive to an "artsy" applicant.

For context:
4.0 GPA, 511 (129/125/128/129) MCAT
20F, ORM, VA residence, grew up in PA, college in Boston
Biology and Design Major

Clinical:
- Derm MA and scribe (1000+ hours)
- Clinical research (500+ hours, 1000+ in total)

Volunteer:
- Art Therapy Volunteer at homeless shelter (150+ hours)
- Volunteer at community kitchen to prepared meals for those with chronic illnesses (50+ hours)
- Hospital Volunteer (80+ hours)

Research:
- Traditional lab research on campus (400+ hours)
- Clinical research (500+ hours, 1000+ in total) - pending protocol paper submission

Extracurricular/Other:
- Design Editor of Student Newspaper (300+ hours)
- Organic Chemistry TA (100+ hours)
- Design research for redesigning and deploying mobile health clinic for rural communities (300+ hours)
- Notetaker for students with disabilities (200+ hours)

Shadowing: 80+ hours, pathology, endocrinology x2, obgyn

Your community service comprises a lot of clinic-adjacent activities. You need more hours in community kitchen activity (50 hours); you are below 150 hours of service orientation activities so your file could be screened out. As noted, Loyola and the Jesuit schools look for candidates with much more than 150 hours too.

Service orientation activities include food distribution, shelter volunteer, job/tax preparation, legal support, transportation services, or housing rehabilitation.
