I received my MCAT score today and was thoroughly disappointed at how low it was..but I'm going to apply this cycle anyways as I've poured a lot of time into my application. However, I'm now at a complete loss with what to do with my school list as the schools I had before had MCAT median scores that were much higher...thus any help would be appreciated. I'm now also applying to DO schools but haven't given a thought as to which schools to apply as I hadn't considered it before.
cGPA: 3.8
sGPA: 3.7
MCAT: 504 124/126/127/127
State of residence or country of citizenship: AZ resident
Ethnicity and/or race: ORM
Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer): 200 Hours, split between working in a hospital and hospice
Research experience and productivity: 600 hours, helped with animal surgeries and implementing follow up experiments - no pubs though.
Shadowing experience and specialties represented: 300 hours, pediatrics, neonatology, internal medicine, general surgery, emergency dept., ICU, etc.
Non-clinical volunteering: 2500 hours across many organizations, particular focus on working with refugee populations and people with HIV. Part of my most meaningful experiences.
Other extracurricular activities (including athletics, military service, gap year activities, leadership, teaching, etc): TAed for a semester, held leadership positions in two clubs.
Relevant honors or awards: NA - I was awarded a substantial merit scholarship to attend my university but idk if that's worth mentioning.
Interested in primary care in the future and working in rural areas. I have very stellar LORs. I'm also trying to frame my narrative around service as that is what I'm most passionate about alongside medicine so schools that are heavily focused on that would be ideal.
I apologize if I posted in this thread incorrectly - its my first time here!
