Reapplicant after going 2/17 from secondary's to II conversion. WL at both schools, state school & Kaiser. Old school list was basically only T-30s, really exclusive non T-30s, and OHSU. I also submitted lots of secondary essays in Aug. I know it was a terrible decisions on multiple fronts and I am now facing the consequences, arrogance did me in. Mostly looking for advice on school list, which is limited by an MCAT from Jun 2022.
In terms of what held me back, my app was in retrospect poorly written. A lot of fluffy creative writing style language. I also had less than 150 hours non-clinical volunteering. I have corrected both of these. This was the feedback from CWRU who has been the only school willing to give me personalized feedback so far. They said my GPA was not an issue but I suspect I will still be screened out from a lot of top schools.
Reach/likely donation:
Cornell, Sinai*, Penn, Rochester, UCLA*, Emory*, Stanford, UCSD*, Yale, Harvard, Wash U, Einstein*, Hofstra*, NYU LI, Vandy, CWRU*, PITT*
Possible and stats within range:
UA-Phx*, Iowa, U Wisconsin, U Maryland, Ohio state*, Saint Louis, Tufts, Vermont, Wayne state, Wake Forest, Jefferson, Oregon, George Washington, Cooper, Hackensack, Geisinger, U Conn, Cinci, Albany
I think all of the stat focused schools + yale and Harvard are not worth even trying for, everything else I'm open to. Also open to DO schools but I know nothing about them which makes picking them stressful. Have been putting off researching them till I am done rewriting my primary. Any feedback is appreciated, thanks all

- 3.68 GPA - 3.01 yr1, 3.78 yr2, 3.93 yr3, 4.0 yr4. 3.96 upper div GPA
- 519 (129/130/130/130)
- OR
- White M 25
- No rank state school
- 1800 peds primary care scribe, 2600 peds onc CRC (not really clinical or research as people know but including it here)
- 1100 bench work, no research productivity it was a very new lab. Was awarded a grant from my undergrad institution to do summer research with them my senior year. No pubs from CRC job since peds onc research is always large multi site trials.
- 64 hours, 40 peds, 8 Fam med DPC, 8 Ortho Spine surg, 8 cards critical care
- 100 emergency homeless shelter volunteering, 100 soup kitchen for a FQHC serving homeless youth, 40 hospice (cut short due to moving)
- Physiology lecture TA, Anatomy lab TA. I also spend a lot of time tutoring my younger siblings who are still in high school. For a multitude of reasons my parents can't/won't help them with school.
- N/A deans list a few terms but nothing that stands out
- raised by anti vax parents for 8 years, very poor from ages 8-17 after parents separated. Received full tuition need based scholarship for undergrad. Address low freshman GPA in OIE essay and connect it to poverty growing up and unstable home environment in HS.
