Hello! I applied last year, SUPER late in the cycle, like September 16 at 3am, and my secondaries were anything but timely (Easily my biggest mistake that cycle). I interviewed at UA in December and got the post-II R In March sometime. Every other school was pre-II R. I did meet with an adcom member from UA recently, and they gave great feedback on my application essays, which I have addressed. They also said my application looked strong and my interview score was above average, leading me to think it really came down to a late application, and some deficiencies in the essays.

This cycle, I unfortunately did not qualify for the FAP, though money is still a factor so I had to limit my choices to 10 schools. I did not apply to any DO schools last cycle because of how I long I was taking on my MD application. The school list from last year had too many Reach schools for my stats as well. Any advice is welcomed, specifically on the schools list, and if there are any on there that could be swapped for a better match.

School list in no particular order:

MD:
UA Tucson (reapplicant)
UA Phoenix (reapplicant)
Albany (reapplicant)
Wake Forest
Tulane

DO:
KCU
AZCOM
CCOM
UNE
PCOM (Philadelphia and South Georgia)
Maybe ARCOM

Thanks!

You do not have any significant non-clinical volunteering to the underserved. For a limited list of schools, I would suggest:

MD:
Your state schools
Drexel
Quinnipiac
Rosalind Franklin

DO:
AZCOM (favors higher MCAT, but you are from AZ)
KCU
PCOM
Touro NV
ACOM (better option than ARCOM IMO)
KYCOM

Thank you for the input! I did apply to Quinnipiac, RF, and Drexel last year, would you still recommend those over the ones I listed?

You can try again. Tulane expects more service than you have so it might be better to skip them. You could try NYMC or Hackensack. The other schools I can think of where they would consider a 506 MCAT from an OOS student are also service-oriented.

For MD schools your best chances are Arizona (Phoenix and Tucson). You could try these schools also:
TCU-UNT
Creighton
Loyola
Medical College Wisconsin
NOVA MD
Drexel
Temple
Hackensack
New York Medical College
Albany
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Also apply broadly to DO schools and i suggest these:
AZCOM
CCOM
TUNCOM
ATSU (both schools)
UIWSOM
KCU-COM
DMU-COM
MU-COM
PCOM
ACOM
CUSOM
NYITCOM
Touro-NY
