Demographics: Michigan resident, close to traditional (first semester senior as of now), ORM
Stats: 3.79/3.75 sGPA/cGPA, 516 MCAT (balanced)
ECs: ~300 clinical volunteering, ~250 nonclinical volunteering, ~70 shadowing (specialties, primary care, surgery), ~2000 research (2 posters, 1 3rd-arthor pub, currently writing a thesis), leadership in two nonprofit orgs, officer positions in miscellaneous fun clubs
Employment: Residential Advisor, TA for 3 semesters, tutor for 4 semesters, scribe ~700 hours

Thinking of applying next year or taking another gap year to do more research/clinical experience. Any idea for school list with the app I have now?

You are competitive for all your Michigan schools: U Michigan, Wayne State, Michigan State, Central Michigan, Oakland Beaumont and Western Michigan. Add Toledo too. You can add any OOS schools that appeal to you but avoid state public schools that accept few non residents.

Thanks for your reply!
For University of Michigan, I believe my stats are only around average of their accepted students. Is it still worth a shot given my ECs? I do go here for undergrad.
I apologize if my questions are silly; I'm naive about the process of making a productive school list. Thank you again.

Oh wow! I thought my stats don't cut it for the top 20s. You surely gave me confidence to aim higher. Thank you.

I would cut Goro's list by half but which half is up to you. Apply to your Michigan schools plus 15 more and you should have more than one offer by March of your application year. You really don't need any more clinical or research experience than you already have so take a job that will maximize $$ with the flexibility to go to interviews while you are working.

I'm very much flattered by such high praise coming from you; thank you! Gosh, it's exciting to imagine that I'll (hopefully) be interviewing at this time next year!!! 😳
I will definitely take your advice regarding gap year job into consideration. So you think schools would cut me some slack if I cut back on research and/or clinical activities during my gap year? That's great to hear ;D I'll see what I can do!

Any more research is simply gilding the lily.
