505 MCAT (C/P-127, CARS-126, B/B-125, P/S-127)
cGPA 3.95, sGPA 3.95 from New York State school (bio degree)
I currently have 3 DO interviews (which I would gladly attend), but I was curious about my chances in an MD program.

1. I am a New York Resident

2. I am an Asian category ORM

3. around 200+ clinical volunteer
around 200+ nonclinical volunteer

4. 1000+ research. No pubs but have presented a poster at a regional conference.

5. 120+ hours of shadowing (Family medicine, and gastro)

6. Play rec soccer, Orgo TA, One Club that shows leadership, tutored/volunteer at elementary school

7. Dean's list and some research money rewarded from my school for my poster presentation

8. I submitted all secondaries around July 14-30 (verified July 14th) and all Casper scores have been sent out. I took the preview exam on August 3rd. None of my schools require but some do recommend it.

9. I am a traditional applicant and was in college for the bulk of COVID which limited hours. I have based my activity and personal statement descriptions on storytelling and a show way rather than a tell way. This was based on Dr. Gary's advice on youtube. This is my first time applying. I am open to other schools if people have suggestions. I also know some of my schools might not be too OOS friendly but trying my luck!

You have several MD schools on your list that admit very few non residents with a MCAT of 505 and non connection to the state. Also Rush is looking for applicants with many more hours of clinical and non clinical hours than you have. Howard mainly admits applicants from the SAfrican American community. These are the schools from your MD list where you could potentially receive interviews:

Thank you for the input. I agree that some of my choices weren't the best for my odds. I actually did not know some of these public schools were very OOS friendly. I believe I will add New York Medical College, Vermont, TCU, and wake forest. Thank you!!

For MD, I suggest:
Temple (maybe)
Hackensack Meridian
Loyola
Tulane
Albany
Wayne State
MCW
Loma Linda (only if you are SDA or a very devout Christian)
Rosy Franklin
Uniformed Services University/Hebert (just be aware of the military service commitment)
Your state school(s).
Strongly suggest that you get in more clinical exposure hours and service to others less fortunate than yourself.

Overall, chances best with DO

Thank you for the response and suggestions. The bulk of my non-clinical volunteer work is through food pantry work. I maybe should have specified that. Also, I agree my clinical hours are short due to covid-19. I have put on the amcas application that I anticipate having another 300+ clinical hours by matriculation since I am continuing all my activities.
