Note: I know that this is a lot of schools, but I am willing to apply to many. I am looking for advice on whether there are any schools I can add or remove, as well as any additional input anyone may have.

Thank you in advance, any help is highly appreciated!

When are you planning to apply? You have many state public schools on your list that admit very few non residents with your MCAT scores of 503 and 512 and no connection to the state.

Where did you attend recruitment events, or which schools have you talked to before you constructed your application?

How about non-clinical community service?
I haven't attended any specific recruitment events or specifically talked to schools before applying. In terms of non-clinical volunteering, I have hours that are included as my role as a treasurer in the Alzheimer's club, which I talk about during my most meaningful experience descriptions.

My primary is submitted, I am currently prewriting secondaries while I wait for it to be verified. If possible, could you please let me know which schools you are talking about? I know I can't remove schools from the application now, but still just looking for overall advice. Thank you!

You applied to 62 schools and are just working on preparing secondaries??? You are on track of being too late for at least half of the schools, maybe two third, if you don't get it done before the end of September. You may be too late for some of the schools where you don't have mission fit now.

Community service? You didn't list any. None of your MMEs are community service.

Yes, I took my retake at the end of May so I didn’t get a chance to pre write my primaries. I was working on them through June and July. I understand what you are saying though, thank you for your advice! Is there any advice you have in terms of overall school list?

My community service is the 200 hours of clinical volunteering that I measured.

You already said you sent AMCAS apps to all 62 schools. I don't know what advice your want other than how much more you want to spend. I think you have wasted a lot of money, and the less community service you have, the more I think you have wasted your application.

Nonclinical community service is zero hours then?

Yes, 0 nonclinical community service hours

Yes, 0 nonclinical community service hours
Are you doing anything now (not on your AMCAS, currently in-progress) in these areas: food distribution, shelter volunteer, job/tax preparation, legal support, transportation services, or housing rehabilitation?

How did you come up with your list? What feedback have you gotten with this list outside of SDN?

Your lack of non clinical volunteering will limit your chances for interviews. I suggest doing the secondaries for these schools that you applied to:

  • FIU
  • FSU
  • NSU

  • University of Vermont, Vermont
  • Wake Forest, North Carolina
  • George Washington University, Washington
  • Wayne State, Michigan
  • You could add these schools:
  • Belmont
  • Alice Walton
  • Roseman

I am currently working as a medical assistant. Other than that, no, I am not doing any of the other activities you listed.

I created this list using feedback from my college counselors and advice from my peers who are currently in medical school and have gone through the application process.
