Engineering undergrad, graduated in 2017. Currently working full time in the military. I am a Florida resident.

Engineering + ROTC kicked my butt early on and I had two semesters with a GPA below 3.0. After that I steadily improved and was on the Dean's List my last two semesters. AACOMAS and AMCAS calculate science GPA differently, so there is a bit of a discrepancy in my GPA's between the two of them.

cGPA = 3.4
AACOMAS sGPA = ~3.5
AMCAS sGPA = ~3.2
DIY Post Bacc GPA = 3.6

I got a 519 on my MCAT. I am an EMT and an EMT instructor. I have several hundred hours of volunteering, both as an EMT at a free clinic and at other organizations helping wounded veterans. I have letters of recommendation from a physician I work closely with for my real job, my supervisor for my EMT instructor gig, my biochem professor, and my organic chemistry professor.

My dream school is Georgetown University. I love the DC area and Georgetown's mission as a Jesuit school deeply resonates with me. My second choice after Georgetown is Loyola (Chicago), again, because of my attachment to the Jesuit/Ignatian philosophy. However, I realize that with my low MD science GPA, MD schools are probably not realistic for me. If applying MD is a total waste of time with my sGPA, let me know.

Open to suggestions for additions/deletions. I put almost all of the public FL schools on this simply because I am a resident, but I have no intention or desire to stay in FL long term. I am only a resident because I am stationed here, I'm not attached to the state at all.

The list isn’t bad, but I personally don’t think you will be competitive at Mayo, BU, or Tufts with your GPA, but perhaps you should add U of Wisconsin since you have some state ties. U Miami and NOVA (MD) might be a good idea too!

You are competitive for some MD schools. I suggest adding these:
Miami
USF Morsani
NOVA MD
TCU-UNT
Creighton
Rosalind Franklin
Oakland Beaumont
Wayne State
Vermont
Dartmouth
Quinnipiac
Albany
New York Medical College
Seton Hall
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson

Thanks! I had USF Morsani originally, but I removed it because their average MCAT for admitted students is pretty close to mine. I figured my best bet for MD schools would be to apply to schools where I am above the average admitted MCAT.

Are the schools you listed known to be open to nontrads?

Should I take remove any of the MD schools I have listed currently?

Thank you! The only reason I have Mayo on there is because I spoke to a former student who encouraged me to apply. His opinion was that my GPA had a strong enough upward trend and I had a compelling enough story (military, nontrad, engineer) that I might get a second look by the adcoms.

Yeah, as a veteran you will get a bit of forgiveness or a boost. You’re competitive for mid-tier MD schools IMO.

Some of the schools I listed like non trad applicants (ie Dartmouth). You do need to remove any schools on your list.
